Ode to Snow

That police car looks good in snow
Its red-white hubs by these white shrubs
With stiff red berries I could throw
At brother, twenty years ago.

Those police dusted 'round last night
For finger-prints - now I can track
Raccoons and bunnies in the white-
blue beard that sprouted up so bright.

The gleaming  sun will shave it down
By noon - it makes my toes so cold
As I traipse on this trail to town -
For greasy eggs and steamin' joe
Observing freshly fallen snow.
